No question about it, SHEER is trending. Internationally for Spring/Summer 2017, designers like Valentino, Balmain and Fendi exposed a variety of stunning designs.
In Trinidad and Tobago Carnival some events are more conservative than others, so sheer garments did not top the list. Two events in particular we noticed the trend was at Beach House and Soca Brainwash, compared to UWI all-inclusive and other events. Beach House and Soca Brainwash are popular events on the event calendar and are held during the weeks leading up to the Carnival road experience, these events draw a chic crowd of fashionistas from around the world.
What we love about the see-through overlay is that you can be mild or wild, depending on your comfort level, either way, we love us some transparent layers. It is definitely #styletripapproved and we expect to see this trend across the region for other Carnival events and occasions in the coming months.
Our one rule is that your under garments should be discrete and offer enough coverage for the chic look.
