Hot Stuff at the Carnival Pop Up

On Saturday 18th February 2017, 51 Degrees Lounge, a well known party spot in Trinidad and Tobago was the place to be, to shop local, from eccentric finds to cool things. We saw some #hotstuff and could not resist picking up a few from the wide assortment.

Fashion Arch, the consultancy brand behind the Carnival Pop Up did an outstanding job. We missed the first one but from the looks of the second I am sure they continued to impress. The venue layout was good but lighting was low, music was pumping and there was a continuous flow of shoppers. Each one of the approximately 25 exhibitors primarily trading locally made goods had exceptional quality. We even spotted one of the shoppers in the evening already rocking one of her pieces during our STYLE TRIP. As you may have heard we have embarked on a STYLE TRIP adventure and will be stalking styles for Carnival.

Here are a few images at the venue and of some of the HOT STUFF I picked up, sorry I couldn’t get everything…

The beautiful Crystal Antoine-Allene was live in person, you must own  one of her pieces. Check out Cocoa Vintage
Body Frosting intricate bead weaving is colourful and divine.
NO YOU WOULD NOT COME HOME DRUNK, funny tees from DLR Clothing Co. (Have a safe Carnival folks, drink responsibly)
We spotted Anya Ayoung Chee promoting the LEAVE ME ALONE campaign, powerful message to raise awareness about gender based violence and sexual harassment of women.
